Open House!
Today was my Open House. I had 9 great ladies come and stamp with me. We made these two really cute projects.
The first is an altered notebook made with The Say If With Scallops stamp set. This set is Stampin Ups - Ronald McDonald set. They donate $2.00 from the sale of this set to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. This set was bought for all of the demonstrators who went to Convention by UPS. YEAH UPS!!! For instructions on how you can alter your own notebook, visit my Stampin Up web site http://stampingdanielle.stampinup.net and click on the My Story tab where every month I teach you a new tip or technique!
The second make-n-take is this really cute card made with Wow Flowers and our new Kiwi Kiss paper. We use the crimper to add extra interest to this card and of course our new Scallop Edge Punch!
I believe everyone had a great time! My next event is scheduled for September where we will be making a Recipe Book!!

What am I up to today?
Well I am getting ready for my 2008 Fall/Winter Idea Book open house tomorrow. I am so excited to have everyone over and share the wonderful new items. We will be making two really cute make-n-takes with new products and stamp sets. Can't show you what they look like now, because it might spoil the surprise.
One thing I did spend some time on was making making Thank You gifts for all of my visitors. These are called Sour Cream containers and they are so simple to make. All you need is:
1) Designer Paper (4 1/4 x 5 1/2)
2) Adhesive
3) Something to put inside!!
If you want to get a little fancy, you can use a crimper to crimp the edges and make it looked like it was sealed by a machine and embellish it with some sentiment. I used Thank you So Much from Sincere Salutations (I get so much use out of this set!!).
Anyway, I have taken a picture of the finished products along with three in the different stages of creation.
1) Put adhesive on one 4 1/4 edge and both the 5 1/2 edges
2) Adhere the edges of the 4 1/4 side to make a cylinder shape
3) Press one of the open (5 1/2) sides together - closing one side (Crimp)
4) Fill with your favorite treat
5) Push the other (5 1/2) sides together in the opposite direction from the other end (Crimp). (When looking at the container from the top, the two ends will form a +.)
6) Embellish as you like!!
Super simple and really cute!
Enjoy!!

In Love with a Big Shot!!!
As I have mentioned Stampin Up has partnered with Sizzix and as of September 2nd will be selling the Big Shot along with some exclusive Stampin Up dies. So I put in my pre-order for the starter kit and then started to get some buyers remorse. Why do I need this, I have been stamping and card making for 5 years now without any type of device. Well last night I got to play with the Big Shot and now I am counting the days until mine is delivered by the man in Brown (not being sexist, the "person" in Brown that comes to my house happens to be a man). Anyway, look what I made last night!!! Isn't it adorable!!! I haven't purchased this die yet....but believe me, it will be on on my wish list!!!
Thanks for checking in...

Take the Survey
On the right I have posted a survey. This will help me focus my events to be more in line with what you want. Tell me the type of events you like and the best day to hold that event. There are only two questions so it will only take you a min to choose.
Not like when you want a snack and you are sitting in front of that vending machine. I am taking a vow to avoid all vending machines for 1 month. Besides the fact that none of the food is any good for you, think about all the time you waste standing in front of it. So, I am taking the challenge - no vending machines one month starting today!!! WOW - this post took a wierd twist..LOL Yes folks - this is how my brain works!!!

Ode to Sock Monkey
The Sock Monkey (ITEM 111550)in the short time it has been around has been very controversial. Most people either love it or hate it. I love it! This is my first card using it. The card stock used are some of the new In Colors. Baja Breeze is the card, with a layer of Pacific Point. The strip with the bananas is Kiwi Kiss and the layer under it is Tangerine Tango. This is a really fun card, I hope you love it as much as I do!!!
